R.E.A.L. Hope Youth Center is a not-for-profit, after-school enrichment program for students in first through sixth grades. We are open Monday through Thursday after school until 6:00 pm, and on Friday until 5:30 pm. We have the capacity of 60 children divided into three clubs based on the school grades of the children: 1-2 Club, 3-4 Club, and Top Club (5-6 grades). The staff is composed of three teachers, a program coordinator, and a director, all part-time positions. We have almost 30 volunteers, serving on our board, mentoring and tutoring the children, and helping with our fundraising efforts.
The areas that are covered during our time with the kids includes academic achievement, cultural and fine arts appreciation, team building and problem solving, gross-motor activities, good nutrition, and self-control. Characteristics that are valued and reinforced are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship, and victimless humor. Becki White - Director |
